Heaven’s Not Overflowing

About This Project

I’ve seen Corrosion of Conformity (or COC for short) live more than any other other band I know. To date, I believe it’s around 11 times since 1994. These guys are my in-state “go-to-band” as they hail from Raleigh, North Carolina.

While I absolutely love this band, COC might be the most difficult band to fully categorize. They began as (1) a three-piece hardcore band, (2) fell into the 90’s and went Metallica-style heavy metal as a five piece band, and (3) reversed gears a bit as a four-piece band to become a southern-metal, Black Sabbath-inspired band. As their main singer, Pepper Keenan, toured and played with his other band DOWN, the hardcore three piece tours as well as the BLIND album version of the band. How many bands can say there are three current versions and lineups?

No doubt though my favorite COC is one where Pepper Keenan is involved. Both he and Woody play iconic custom ESP SG guitars without the Viper angled body. Try to order one—you can’t. Rumor is James Hetfield had them made for the guys.

This poster is a tribute to the album Deliverance as much as the first song Heaven’s Not Overflowing. This was the regrouped foursome’s first album and the sound is raw, heavy and unmistakeably them. It became their trademark; the gnarly guitar sound is mixed so well on this album, play it loud and the floors will shake. I got this as soon as it came out in 1994 and it has been pivotal in my music arsenal since. Enjoy.
