Just One Fix is one of those songs I would want to have play for me when entering a room—old school wrestling style! It’s just a cool song. When it debuted in 1992, I had never heard anything quite like this before. It’s a thumping blend of music styles: distorted vocals, repetitive techno-dance-ish beats, and an aggressive guitar riff. What’s not to like?
The lyrics, while probably about a drug-fix (and the video doesn’t argue against that) could be interpreted in many ways. I’d like to take high road and say everyone has a fix. It’s a conscious and subconscious issue. We’re all tied—everyone has that one thing we need to satisfy an addiction. Right or wrong. With that in mind, how are you going to improve? What’s going to get you to the next level?
Never trust a junkie
Blood keeps drinking away
Certain of its destination
Driving through New Orleans at night
Gotta find a destination
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Life keeps slipping away
Fighting in a war with damnation
Poised, keep cutting away
Im looking in through to salvation
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Like if I boarded a train
Trying to take in another station
Join us and the choice will be made
Unless we kill the lie as a nation
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix, just one fix
Just one fix
